Resistance is a graphic novel set against the backdrop of today’s achievement society. It follows an ordinary urban office worker who gradually loses his sense of self amid endless work, and sets out to reclaim a “tomorrow” of his own.
Day after day, work, commuting, and the constant pressure of self-improvement trap him in a world of endless repetition. When his exhaustion and estrangement become impossible to ignore, he is drawn into an adventure somewhere between reality and an inner otherworld. Through spatial storytelling and the visual expression of his inner life, the book explores his resistance to external forms of discipline and his attempt to reclaim agency over his own life.
Resistance is a story of alienation, exhaustion, and redemption—and a questioning of how we are meant to live.
